Justice and Responsibility
At our school, we follow our vision of helping every child and adult to know how to ‘shine and make a difference’.
What does this mean for our children and adults?
I
- Understand what is fair and unfair
- Care about others and the wider world
- Use their voice to speak up and make a difference
We want our pupils to grow into young people who don’t just learn about the world — but help to improve it.
What does this look like in our school?
Across school, children learn about important issues such as:
- Caring for the environment
- Helping people in need
- Treating everyone with kindness and respect
They are then encouraged to take action, for example:
- Raising money for charities
- Reducing waste and protecting nature
- Supporting local and global communities
- Sharing their ideas through discussions, campaigns and projects
What is “courageous advocacy”?
This means having the confidence and courage to stand up for what is right — even when it isn’t easy.
In our school, this might look like:
- Speaking up when something is unfair
- Including others and challenging unkind behaviour
- Leading projects that help people or the planet
- Making positive choices in everyday life
Our aim
We want all of our children to leave school as:
- Kind and thoughtful individuals
- Responsible citizens
- Confident voices for change
By living out our vision every day, our children truly shine and make a difference — in our school, our community and the wider world.
